Acupuncture

From Jan 2015, Dr Yun Li will be providing acupuncture services. Acupuncture, the ancient Chinese art of healing, has become popular the world over during the past few decades. In many diseases, which are resistant to conventional forms of therapy, acupuncture has proved remarkably effective. Besides being free from side effects commonly encountered in drug therapy, it is a simple, safe and effective form of therapy.

Acupuncture is usually applied by inserting thin sterile, disposable needles to the skin at specific body points. The patient may feel a mild sensation, but this is not usually painful, and is often an indication that the treatment is working.

Before treatment avoid hot baths or long showers, exertion and do not have a large meal or an empty stomach. Importantly do not drink alcohol either before or after treatment. A period of rest or relaxation after treatment will also enhance the response to acupuncture. Dr Li’s main interest is in treating all kinds of Musculo/skeletal disorders such as
